Are you sure those are gingerbread men? They look more like a chain of paper dolls to me.

If you ever wonder what the logo of the day means, click on it. You’ll normally get an explaination.

Like for example, on April 1, the logo showed pigeons at computers. Clicking on the logo explained how Google uses “open space lin/ax” to power their searches:
