Well, considering that it looks like they put the peircing though bone I’d think it increases the chance for infection. I don’t want to imagine a fist fight in those, much less a car wreck!

Actually, I was thinking they didn’t look half-bad. But I imagine they would flap in the breeze. I should run the idea past my optometrist.

So…do you keep the studs in all the time, or what? I mean you’d have to take them off for bed, wouldn’t you?
And I second the comment about piercing through bone. Let me repeat that. Piecring through bone! Eeeyugh…that’s a big no-no.

I don’t think it is going through bone. Look at the two pictures that are kind of from the side. It look like there is a bulge over the bone.

Ok, even so those things are _screwed to your face_. There would be no way to get them off your face quickly if someone was throwing a punch at you, and I can’t imagine what it would be like in a car wreck. :eek: No thank you!

No, it is not through bone. I have many friends who’ve had that piercing for years, through the skin across the bridge of the nose. I just think it’s a cool way to expand on an existing piercing.
I definitely hear you about not wanting to be wearing those in a fight though!! One of the main reasons I’ve never picked a fight since getting my lip pierced 11 years ago, probably. 😉

Aaaah! Those look incredibly disturbing. I like to be able to take my glasses off quickly if I have to. And what if you have a small child who likes to pull your glasses off?! :eek:

Those are fucking awesome! At least, the idea is. I’ve got reservations about the design. Being able to easily remove the lenses would be key. Some sort of break-away mechanism, in the case of fist fight/car wreck/friendly parrot would also be crucial. I think the ideal would be a ball-and-socket joint that you could snap onto an already-exsisting barbell piercing, and which would pop off if stress were applied to them. That way, you could also adjust them more easily. But that’d take a fair bit of skill as a machinist, and probably more sophisticated equipment than this guy has.
Still, sweet idea.

I think it would work if it were a tight enough fit. Which is a problem, admittedly. I don’t know how standardized those barbell piercings are. I mean, I know they come in different sizes, but if you get two that are supposed to be the same size, how uniform are they going to be?
