I would use the abbreviations “Mats”. Then if they recognize that as being short for Materials, you’ll know they’re probably fellow gamers. ---

Thanks for the suggestions. The form is cramped for space already, and it’s filled in by hand, so I can’t shrink the other columns down too much unless I hand out jeweler’s loupes. Going vertical has its own space requirements in this case as well. I have tentatively adopted the “document icon over the column, repeat that icon with additional text underneath explaining what it means” method suggested above. It’s too bad, really, that I can’t make an official form asking if anyone brought PowerPoint slides or other Briefing Materials, and head my column “ **PP or BM?** ” ---
