I would use the abbreviations “Mats”. Then if they recognize that as being short for Materials, you’ll know they’re probably fellow gamers.

The form is cramped for space already, and it’s filled in by hand, so I can’t shrink the other columns down too much unless I hand out jeweler’s loupes. Going vertical has its own space requirements in this case as well.
I have tentatively adopted the “document icon over the column, repeat that icon with additional text underneath explaining what it means” method suggested above.
It’s too bad, really, that I can’t make an official form asking if anyone brought PowerPoint slides or other Briefing Materials, and head my column “PP or BM?”
