I will need more info. on who these Blakes are and what my character choices are for creation. I’m open to what you have in mind, mixing in my own ideas as well. Sounds neat.
The setting will be approximately equivalent to late Dark Ages Europe in technology level. Marauding bands of orcs and goblins occasionally prey on human villages. There’s nothing magical about them in general, but just like humans the various orc races have a few members blessed or cursed with the Gift. Most humans live in societies organized under a feudal system, where nobles and commoners have little in common.
You’ll have a large amount of freedom in your character creation. The Blakes are a minor noble family. The two Blakes in your party will start the adventure on a journey to pursue the family’s claim on a disputed title in a foreign land. It’s a long-shot attempt to raise the status, prestige, wealth, and power of the House of Blake. Your character may be eagerly embarking on the journey, with hope in his heart and stars in his eyes. Or, he may be reluctantly agreeing to make the trip, because his family has threatened to cut him off due to his freeloading, womanizing, drunken ways. This is all stuff that can be worked out during character creation. You’ll be free to decide whether your character is a soldier, a scholar, a wastrel, a devout believer, a diplomat, or something that doesn’t quite fit into any archetype.
I’m cool with being one of the retainers/servants to the nobles, but I’d like to know their personalities first before I solidify mine.
I’m cool with whatever role. I’ll take whatever’s leftover.
I’d like to be the native guide if possible.

Myself and Mosier have done the RPG by post thing together before and honestly I am super stoked he has started a new one! I would love to join in if a spot is open and either way I am going to read up and follow along even if there is no room for me! I love the way these stories turn out and how each individual person contributes to the story. It’s like reading a book with multiple authors who have no idea what the end game is going to be! it makes it oh so exciting!
