I just read the “Homer” thread and I thought it might be fun to ask a few Cheers Questions for the experts: 1. At the end of the last episode of Cheers, Sam fixes a picture on the wall, what picture is it, and what is the importance of that picture to the cast? 2. Who was Andy Andy? 3. Besides bartending, what other jobs did Woody have? 4. Why did Diane first walk into the bar at Cheers? Those are some of the better Qs I can think of off the top of my head. Any answers or better Qs? ---

Very good. Damn, and I thought I might not have to answer this for a little while. BTW: It was Geronimo. It was the picture taken from the private room of the actor who played Ernie Pantusso (Coach) after he passed away. OK. Two more Qs: 1. What theories of psychology did Fraiser and Lillith subscribe to? (This is debatable as to Lillith’s theoretical underpinnings) 2. What was the name of Lillith’s favorite pet mouse, and what was the ramification of its death? ---

Sam straightening the picture in the last episode was a nod to Coach. Nicholas Colasanto (Coach) brought the picture in question to the set (I can’t remember which chief it was). At one time Woody worked at a grave yard, as a digger I think. I think Diane first came into Cheers to meet her affair/English Professer, who ended up stiffing her. I used to watch this show religiously when it was new. I just discovered reruns at 11:00 on my local Fox station, so maybe I’ll be able to catch up. ---

Doink! I didn’t even see your explanation of the picture, Prosser. I was all excited that I had a scoop that I jumped the gun a little. In fact it seems I’ve ignored pretty much every post in this thread except the OP. Give me a break - we all have our off days. It’s only 9:00am where I am, and I’m only halfway through my first cup of coffee. If you need me I’ll be over in the corner clutching my knees to my chest and rocking back and forth. ---

They showed it and he referenced it a surprising number of times. Surprising because no one ever seems to remember it. 3. His given name was Hillary. It had been passed down by one of his relatives. On to your questions- 4. Cucumber. 5. No clue. I’m thinking Tiberious. Close? 6. Can’t remember exactly, it was either Postal Codes or Celibacy. Something down that line. ---

After seeing the recent “sweaty movie” thread inspired by Cheers, I had to check and see if there were any Cheers trivia threads out there; so, I’m resurrecting it. Frasier and Lilith met while doing a TV talk show together on some psychological topic, I believe. Dutch Kincaid was the man that Sammy couldn’t strike out. He did the “Dutch Windmill” as he circled the bases. I used to be able to watch Cheers repeats at all hours about 8-10 years ago (when the original was still running), but they’re tough to find now. I think I read that TV Land or Nick at Nite will be showing the episodes soon. I hope they do them in order, as I would love to have them all on tape. Hmm, let’s see, other Cheers trivia questions… 1. What was the name of the substitue bartender to whom Norm asked, “Sir, do you happen to have the other half to this locket around my neck?”? The guy was the nicest man ever. 2. In what state did Paul (Krapence) grow up? 3. What was, according to Woody, the most noticeable taste in “Veggie Boy” drink, which he did a commercial for? 4. What was Vera’s maiden name? OK, I hope someone will join me in bringing this fine thread back. ---

**nineiron** , I can answer only one of your questions: Vera’s maiden name is Kreuzer. This is the source of two interesting factoids which cascade from each other. 1. When Norm owned a painting business, he created a sadistic alter-ego for himself to crack the whip over his employees and named him Anton Kreuzer. I don’t remember where the “Anton” part came from, but he borrowed the surname from Vera. 2. In Bruce Wagner’s bizarre 1993 miniseries “Wild Palms” (not recommended to anyone who didn’t see it), there was a corrupt Senator named Anton Kreuzer. I think Wagner admitted in an interview that the Senator was named after Norm’s invention, but I know of no good reason why. It sure didn’t mean anything in the context of the miniseries. Damn, I’m gonna kick myself when someone says the name of the substitute bartender. I remember everything EXCEPT his name. Everyone loved him, he cleaned the draft lines so the beer tasted even better, they had to let him go so they could hire Sam back but he was understanding and kind about it…damn!
