I’ve long thought about doing a trademark law PhD in geographical indicators and specifically Champagne. Because, you know, I’d have to do a field trip.
I’m no expert, but I do like a glass or two of champagne at weddings. Don’t think I’ve had bubbly other than at weddings and at New Year’s Eve parties.
Years ago I toured the Moet et Chandon cellars in… Epernay? I think (not looking it up). Free glass at the end. The only thing I remember is that when the bottles are aging, neck down, in the cellars and rotated every so often, the bottles are *not *corked, they are sealed with bottle caps. They only get corks when they are ready to be shipped.
