There was an episode where most of the action was taking place inside to office. Meanwhile the barflies were discussing the Roadrunner cartoons, and we would hear snippets of the (increasingly heated) conversation whenever the door opened. I still grin like a fool when I think of Frasier bellowing, “The Coyote was NOT the Anti-Christ!!” ---

I think _Cheers_ is the best TV comedy of all time. Years ago I went away with my wife on one of her business trips. I was left alone in our hotel room one night and watched an episode of _Cheers_ that I had seen before. It was great. A few nights later we were back home and the same episode came up as a repeat on late night television. I started watching it again and watched the whole thing. It was still laugh out loud funny, even though I had seen it a few days before. Again it was great - the writing, the dialogue, the perfomances; all perfect. ---

For those so fortunate as to get HDNet on their cable/satellite systems, they run Cheers in the early mornings (weekdays, 6-7AM ET). I’m not sure if Cheers in HD is a good thing or a bad thing – seeing a HD Carla early in the morning could ruin your entire day. ---

Carla: My husband Eddie is with the Pittsburgh Penguins! I love their uniforms! (Eddie comes in,wearing a penguin costume from the ice show) Woody: You’re right, they do have nice uniforms. ---

Cheers is the only sitcom so great that they changed a major character whom I loved and I didn’t even mind. Rebecca came with an entirely different energy, and she was hilarious. Love Cheers. ---

In the very first episode, Diane got a taste of things to come when she heard the barflies discussing the important question of the moment: “What was the sweatiest movie of all time?” A question which I asked here once in Cafe Society.
