Well, ain’t this a kick in the head for all the Bush loyalistas who are _soooo_ certain that we libruls are exaggerating Dick Cheney’s perfidy in manipulating and lying our way into a dastardly war? Now we get corroboration from Dick Armey. Like most Republicans, he’s awfully late at arriving at the truth, but at least he’s gotten there. And Cheney’s got a pattern of saying things on tape, in front of cameras, and then flatly denying having said them, so I don’t think he’s likely to break down and confess everything like a witness on _Perry Mason_. ---

I wonder who’ll write the definitive “My Boss Bush was a Scumbucket” memoir when the regime is over. My money’s on Condoleezza Rice, though some maintain she’s more Luca Brazi than Tessio. However, she’s not as rich as the others and while she’ll always have lucrative professorships and speaking engagements (at least for a while) and board seats, she’ll be a political untouchable after the administration and have little to lose/a lot of money to gain [Bill and Hillary made more than $30 million for their books]. Perino I’m sure would be receptive to big offers but she’s only been at Berchtesgaden for the last year. The long shot- but the consummation most devoutly to be wished- would be Laura Bush after a messy divorce. ---
