If glee is willing to play me as well as Ed I’d like to have lots of comments on my blunders. Just to be slightly weirder and non-sicillian. MindWanderer glee 1. d4 ---

Well I’ve heard nowt from Lazlo (but he’s welcome to play the next one!) MW glee 1. d4 Nf6 OK with the short notation? As before I intend at first to control the centre, develop pieces and castle early. Nf6 delays e4 by White. ---

MW glee 1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 c5 3. Nf3 cxd4 Ok, now the position will be more open. My comment last time was because a major alternative for White is 3.d5, when I play 3. … e5 (instead of the sharp 3. … e6). Welcome Kythereia! Please switch off your mobile phone, though… ---

1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 c5 3. Nf3 cxd4 4. Nxd4 I looked at d5, but wasn’t sure if it was good or not. Capturing looked bad to me so I developed the knight instead. ---

I remember from my days of playing the English as white that 1.c5 2.g3 worked well.
