Well, before we get carried away w/ this taking over of my house bit, my thought was maybe using my place for the lower-key Friday night deal, and then having the Saturday get-together in the City. My reasons for this are:
1. There’ll probably be fewer people that show up for Friday, and my house isn’t that big. And I need to be home for _Hawaii 5-0_.
B. A bar downtown will be easier for everyone to find
iii. My house isn’t all that interesting, quite frankly. Everyone will be far more amused at some sort of public place. I mean, I have the one underwear drawer, but you can only go through that so many times 🙂
2. I don’t want Omni to know where I live
M. If you people think I plan on cleaning the house upwards of once, you are just kidding yourselves about my dedication to this or any other cause 😉
and another thing. I live waaay out in the burbs, so if people are staying at hotels I don’t think that’d be too conducive to getting back alive. Hell, I may get a hotel room for Saturday night.
3. I just know I’d never be able to get that Jophiel smell out of the furniture
So yeah, my point here is, what about Dave & Busters or something like that? I know I want to do some virtual bass fishing. Otherwise, there’s always the back room of the Bird’s Nest.
And yeah, I think mid-May should work pretty well.

Oh, c’mon you guys, let’s make some concrete plans. I promise to get utterly leathered again, really.
My attention span’s too short, and i’m too drunk, to read the wonderful Valeriblaise’s whole post, but i’m sure she’s right whatever. Uncy Beer has the final say on all matters 'cos he’s likely to drive the furthest. Actually, i’m all up for listening to cases where people feel they should be recompensed for the pleasure they give others from the long trip. Or maybe that’s prostitution. I just ran the idea of spending a weekend in Chicago by my hubby and he said it sounded like fun. So let’s start deciding on a weekend to do this. The weekend of May 12-13-14 and 19-20-21 are both good for us.

Well…
If y’all want to think about the 20’s of May, that’s my son’s birthday weekend.
Ok, Ok, I’m in the NW burbs - near plenty of low cost (yet NOT “cheap” in the cheesy sense of the word - do I need to apologize to Sealemon for that remark?) motels, major expressways, **and** have a huge backyard and plenty of room. I’ll host if necessary.
And you’ll get a party too. As long as you all will play pin the tail on the donkey, that is.

Wow… between UB’s thread here and Chris’s thread on her webpage, it’s good to see my name finally getting the exposure I’ve always felt it deserved.
Anyway, obviously I’d love to see ya all again here in Chicago. I really really wish it wasn’t in May though since that seriously crimps my chances on being anything but a fly-through. I work in horticulture and May is the _busiest_ month by far which means 60-70 hour weeks and early starts every day for me. If it’s to be in May, then May it is and I’ll do my damnest, but I make no promises.

Woo-hooh! So far I don’t have godawful crises, emergencies or “can’t break” work things booked. (Famous last words.)
Chicago would be an easy 3.5 hour drive for me. Love to be there! Can’t wait to meet some of you folks in person.
Just give me some rough directions and tips on nearby motels. As far as I’m concerned, the important thing is the company. Atmosphere is nice, but I’d rather have convenience and not having to worry about folks getting “back” safely.
But whatever. I’ll go with the majority.
So, if permitted…count me in!
