As a relative newbie around here, I’d love to meet some of the insane people who post here, but I’m a big chicken and don’t go to the city by myself, esp. at night… (Plus I’m busy for the next few weekends…) Ever consider a ChiDope, or similar get-together, in the 'burbs sometime? ---

Most of the big ChiDopes were in the burbs, IIRC, until the Drunken Debauchery of August. Seem like there have been a lot of smaller gatherings in the city, though. **mags** lives in the city - Wicker Park, I think. ---

I hate to rain on this little party, but THIS here ChiDope is gonna be in the big bad city since there are some of us who are not only carless but also live WAY on the other side of town from all the other Chidopers (namely, me. :D). But, we’re always up for Chidopes (even if they’re in the evil, evil 'burbs 😉 ), so pick a date, start a thread, and let it roll! 😃 BTW: Miss Creant, is cash ok? Just another note on why ChiDopes in the city are becoming the usual thing - Logistics. A lot of Dopers that live in the city do not have cars, whereas all the Dopers that live in the burbs do, AFAIK. 'Course, as we learned at August’s Drunken Debauchery, if you’re an out-of-towner, it’s best to either stay with a local Doper or get a hotel in the loop. Other hotels in the city offer their own benefits, though, like cheap blow jobs from the guy behind the bullet-proof glass and sticky floors. ---
