Something fun we’ve done – there’s a restaurant at 5721 North Clark that has belly dancers. That part of town is called Andersonville, and it’s really nice too. This place, Arkadash Cafe is right across the street from the Swedish Museum. It’s changed names since we were there, but I think it’s the same chef & if so, the food is fabulous!

I think you’re mixing up 2 different restaurants. The place across from the Swedish Museum is now a sushi place, so no belly dancers. Arkadash does have belly dancers, but it’s half a mile or so north of the Swedish Museum, and on the same (East) side of Clark Street. I’ve had mixed experiences with the food there, but the people-watching is great!

Well, hell, if that’s all you need, then just park it on the street in an area with nice (newer) cars. Or the CTA has Park ‘n’ Ride lots that are cheaper than a hotel room, and most of them are pretty secure.

It’s not all I need. I need a bed for Saturday night too. I just want to find a place that’s safe, has parking, isn’t too expensive, and isn’t ridiculously out of the way for when we come stumbling back.
