Do you have a cite to show that Garcia plans on driving employers out of the city? I would be surprised if that were the case.

Of course that’s not his PLAN. You’d have to be an idiot to think that. But it is a likely unintended consequence.

An unintended consequence of what exactly? What has Garcia said or done to make you think he is anti-business? I don’t think being a pro-business mayor means handing the city to corporate interests on a silver platter.
As for Chicago not being ready for reform, I say baloney. The pols and their fat cat friends may not be but they are hardly the majority of the population.

Jacking up the minimum wage beyond what market forces dictate is a start. And advancing Karen “The Hutt” Lewis’s union thug demands is icing on the cake.

Complaining about a minimum wage above what market forces demand (which is the same in effect as opposing any minimum wage law that isn’t a joke) is like complaining that a contractor built your roof to be rain-impermeable instead of letting the rain flow into your structure.

Translation into normal English: I’m against unions and minimum wage increases, so I use terms like ‘thug’ to discredit them. I don’t realize that I’m only discrediting myself.

The Hutt? Really? You must be in perfect shape then, right? It didn’t take you long to go from a pretty well thought out OP to dolling out insults at Rahm’s opponents.
Rahm is [killing the schools](http://edushyster.com/?p=6535) and as cliché as saying “the children are the future” is, he seems to have absolutely no regard for them. Sure the rich kids can go to private schools, magnet schools, and the University of Chicago School Lab (where Rahm’s kids go, in a private limo, whose driver idles his car in the parking lot the whole school day) but there are many more children in Chicago who do not have that option.
Rahm is more concerned about generating money for his pals then running the city. Up until his [recent commercial](http://inthesetimes.com/article/17708/rahm-emanuels-new-campaign-ad-shows-a-mayor-whos-terrified-hes-about-to-los), he has been fairly oblivious to other Chicagoans’ needs or desires.
He is killing the city’s [credit rating](http://www.ctunet.com/blog/moodys-chicago-public-schools-debt-downgrade).
But that’s OK because Karen Lewis is fat.

If Karen Lewis had the body of Karen Carpenter, she’d still be a megalomaniac harpy. She’s interested only in Karen Lewis, not in furthering education.

She is a union president. Her job is to care about the interests of her union members. Sounds like you just hate unions. Which is fine, but don’t act like you actually care about furthering education when the reality is you just actively hate the union, and by extension all of the teachers that make up the union. If you hate teachers, can you really be said to be pro-education?

I’m pro Union but I’m no fan of Karen Lewis and her reign of tyranny. She orchestrated the strike to further her own political interests, not the interests of teachers. She would have picked a political fight to get her face on tv even if she was president of the goat felchers union.

You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. The teachers voted to strike 3 times. She was carrying out the will of the teachers. Where are you getting your information? I’m a teacher’s union member in Chicago and I was on strike with the teachers (I’m a school tech coordinator, so not a teacher, but part of the union). Your description of what happened has no relation to reality.

Unfortunately, Obama endorsed Rahm, which is just as good of a reason to vote for Garcia. Hence the need to hold one’s nose whoever you vote for.
