Their brand is now “that controversial chicken place.” I think most restaurant chains would probably prefer something like “the place with good hamburgers” or “the place I like to take my kids.” We’ll see how it plays out long-term, but my _suspicion_ is that overall this will not be good for business. Personally I could care less; I’m ensuring that my own dollars aren’t going to anti-gay hate groups via Chick-Fil-A, so I’m satisfied. ---

There were huge lines at my local CfA outside of Philadelphia. (Can a chain store, as a practical matter runout of food? What are their stockpiles like? This sort of crowd would test that.) There is only one thing to do, all pro-gay-marriage people must go to their local CfA NEXT Wednesday and buy even more chicken. That will show them! ---

Personally I think that all anti-SSM people should show their support for Chick-fil-A by eating there every meal every day. And in three to five years, when they’re all dead of heart attacks or diabetes, the pro-SSM vote will dominate. Winning! ---

I can’t answer for everyone, but my response to this would be: Because people are allowed to spend money however they want to. If people want to line up around the block for Chick-Fil-A, good for them. I hope the warm glow of bigotry gives them a great night’s sleep. I prefer not to spend my money there, which is what I’ll continue to do. I don’t need to impede anyone else while doing so. ---
