An acorn fell on his car. He thinks he has been shot by the man handcuffed in the back of the car, falls to the ground and empties a clip into his own patrol car while panicking about his gunshot wound. There’s a reason Andy only gave Barney a gun and no bullets. We might want to revive that practice in US law enforcement. ---

The acorn struck his vehicle. Clearly, the officer was justified in shooting based on the “it was coming right at me” doctrine. ---
