I’d say if you’ve ever eaten a steak, or vanilla ice cream, or green beans, or a peppermint patty … then it’s because you’re taste buds are broken. ---

To tell you the truth, I’ve never eaten anything that tasted like chicken, except for chicken, of course. The only exotic animal I have ever eaten, aside from a few thousand flies on my dirt bike, was ostrich, and that tasted like wierd beef. ---

Chickens are afraid to die. Killing them scares the shit outta them. The meat retains the flavor of fear (ie. chicken taste) Many other meats taste like chicken because they derive from animals that are similarly afraid to die. Again, you are tasting fear. Pure, unadulterated, FEAR. Quite an exhilarating mouthful. Brave cattle and pigs have no fear of death, knowing that things can’t get much worse. Therefore, they taste, respectively, like beef and pork. I can’t believe none of you guys knew that?!? 😃 ---

When I slaughtered my wife last month she was scared shitless but when I cooked her up she tasted nothing like chicken. Hmmmm… maybe I’ve said to much. ---

In all seriousness, for a change: Chicken has a fairly neutral flavor. You’ve got your proteins, and not much else. Beef and pork both have specific substances that overwhelm the basic protein taste, but in chicken, that’s all you’ve got. In other words, so many things taste like chicken because they don’t taste like much of anything. ---

The reason that chicken taste like so many different things is because chicken doesnt have a ditinct smell. Most of what you taste, is really what you smell. You really taste almost nothing. Sence chicken’s ‘smell’ is so commom alot of things taste like chicken. And sence chicken has a bland taste it makes a good base in soup, hence the reason for chicken boullion. ---

When we went to the local Mom ‘n’ Pop catfish place for my boss’s birthday, one of the reporters got brave and ordered aligator tail. She let me try a bite (it was in Gator McNugget form). It tasted like chicken to me. But it was like chicken you get in (what passes for) Chinese food. Not because it was spicy or anything, but because of the texture. And at least to my tongue, chicken boullion doesn’t taste like chicken so much as it tastes like spices used in preparing chicken. ---

ok if you want to know how much your taste buds really work, mash up (really really good) the flesh of a pear and a banana blind fold your self and take a big wiff of each one, then have someone else feed you a spoon ful of each (with out telling which is which) and guess. you cann do this with a few other fruits as well. still the point is that taste buds do very little, you use the smell and texture of food to give it a taste.
