ts, we will definitely be doing stuff on Friday night! I will have the kids until Anne gets off work so I will be available after 5:30 or so. Before then I can most likely pick up a few people at the airport and shuttle around a bit as long as you don’t mind driving with my kids!
Well, as per my usual, I’ll be driving up, so I’ll likely not be be arriving until early evening…8-ish or so.
I’d like to second MikeG suggestion of going to Phoenix in ChinaTown for Dim Sum for pre-Dope-festivities. It will set a good base of grease for the alcohol to follow later. 
As far as drinking location, Chief O’Neill’s sounds good, too. Despite my bitching earlier, I don’t much care as long as it meets the minimum criteria of being in the city and having enough room for us in the Beer Garden. If MikeG says it’ll work, that’s good enough for me.
Knowing MikeG and VileOrb, they’d be more than happy to scope out every Beer Garden in Chicago 
(And frankly, I wouldn’t mind helping - hint hint) But that would take a while, and we should probably decide this within the next week or so, if not sooner.

Resi’s would be great for Friday night. Another reason for choosing another venue is food. If you love sausages and schnitzel, you will love Resi’s! If you dont…ummm…they have a tossed salad that only has a little sausage in it
Actually they even have a Wurstsalat which is a green salad with shredded bologna in it! Talk about no options for vegetarians!
The Sheffield House makes an ideal base for a Wrigleyville pub crawl as well!

Frankly, the pictures they have of the outside of the building and the room don’t appeal to me very much. Does anybody have any idea what the neighborhood is like? I love you guys, but I’m not staying in Cracktown for anybody.
I used to live around there. It’s not cracktown. It’s just south of cracktown
It’s actually a very cute sort of street. I don’t know anything about the hotel itself, but I don’t think it should be a nightmare.

Well, my dumb ass went and left work before reserving a room and now they say I’ll have to call back before 2PM tomorrow

Is anybody else planning on staying at the hotel? Rather, are any of the men staying at this hotel? I guess I would feel better about walking around that neighborhood if we had a strong, burly manly man escorting us around.

Jar-I haven’t lived in the city for a while but Sheffield House is south of Irving Park, so I don’t think its too bad, is it? I’m only staying Sat night because I can’t get anyone to watch my dogs for 2 nights in a row!
