I used to think doggystyle meant you rubbed your butts against each other.

I thought sex was when you kissed while naked. Then, when I learned about intercourse, I thought you just laid there, while together, and it lasted for hours and then you pulled out.

I thought a baby crawled out of the mommy when no one was looking, crawled into the daddy to get some of the daddy, then crawled back to the mommy until it was born.

Then a friend explained it to me when I was 9 or so. Boy, was I grossed out.

I figured all babies would have to be born via some sort of operation. Imagine my surprise when I learned the awful truth.

I also believed it was phyisically impossible to have a baby unless you were married.

I’m trying to teach my children that right now. 😉

I thought “making out” was a euphemism for sex. So, I was scandalized (at age 11) when they mentioned that one of my favorite characters on **Just The Ten Of Us** was caught making out with a boy…until they showed her merely kissing him. A lightbulb then formed over my head 😃

When my daughter was around 8 she was perplexed about her friend Hanna. Her parents weren’t married which wasn’t a problem until she found out that they were never married. “That’s impossible!” She protested. Her brother was happy to tell her that, not only can you make a baby without being married, you can make them without even being in the same room. “In a tube! Whatdidja think test tube babies were?”

When I was 10 a 15 year old girl asked me which hole did the guy put his thingy in. After talking to her for a while I realized she thought she had 4 holes down there-- a pee hole, a doody hole, a sex hole and a baby-come-out-hole.

Why she thought I would know, I have no clue. I did know, but I was 10 and she was a _teenager._ So my misconception that teenagers knew everything was cleared up along with hers.

When my daughter told me this, a vision flashed in my mind. Some scrawny, pimply-faced guy looking all forlorn and desperate telling my daughter “Don’t worry you can’t get pregnant. We’re not married!”

I also wondered how the doctors told the girl babies and the boy babies apart when they were born. I figured that was one of the things they taught you in Doctor school.

By Grade 2, I had sex pretty figured out…well, the physical act.

I had always that, when a man penetrates a woman, he has to pee in her to get her prego…

I always thought the clitoris went inside the penis. I couldn’t see how the penis could fit inside any other way. I didn’t understand that I have a hole for that.

A guy I knew told me that when he was little he asked his mom what she had “down there” and she said “same as you except inside out.” He said he was horrified and scarred for life, lol!

That a blow job meant blowing air on a penis…

It wasn’t until I was 16 that I realized I only had one hole. I thought I had two–one for peeing, and my vagina, and that they were of similar size.

I didn’t know what a clitoris was until I was 17. I knew I had a spot down there that felt better than the other spots, but knew nothing more.

Jesus, I was dumb about my own body.

I should probably clarify something. heh I know I don’t urinate out my vagina, what I meant was, I thought I had two holes of similar size…

When I was 7 or 8 I asked my dad how doctors knew that I was a boy when I was born. He told me, “because babies don’t have diapers on when they’re born.” This didn’t make any sense to me and I didn’t ask any further questions.

When I got a little older I learned that having babies involved a man and a woman being together, but I had yet to learn what exactly took place between them. A friend of mine had a single mom and I had no idea how she was ever born without having a father living with her. From this I developed the impression that all a woman had to do was be in close proximity to men (not even having to touch them, just be in their presence for a prolonged period) and eventually she’d get pregnant

Once I learned that the man and woman had to join genitals in order to make a baby I thought that the man inserted his penis (limp, nonetheless) into the vagina and urinated. At around this time I also thought that the baby came out the mother’s butt when it was born.

My mother told me that love made babies-and I thought that meant you had to be in love-and then a baby would result!
Then, we were told about the sperm and the egg in fourth grade. Fine…but they didn’t tell us how the sperm GOT into the woman. I thought it just appeared there by magic. When a friend told me what REALLY happens, I was so grossed out at the thought of my mom and dad doing THAT!!! I still am. _shudder_

I too thought ejaculations were urine.

I once asked my dad what a hooker was and he told me that it was a woman who gets all dressed up with lots of make up, and goes out to bars. Then she waits for men to come, buys them drinks to get them drunk, and then steals their wallets.

My best friend told me that SHE thought doggystyle meant you barked during sex.

My cousin thought that when a woman breast fed, one gave regular milk, the other chocolate.

I thought that the penis moved much like a tail and that the man aimed for the vagina and just shot sperm in. I guess I was grossed out by the idea of the man being inside the woman.

I remember telling everyone in my first grade class how people have sex. My mom wasn’t mad at me, but she wanted to know how I had learned. I think I learned from one of my friends, who was the same age. I told it pretty much correctly, except I was in seventh grade when I finally realized that the guy had to thrust to get anything done. Same with oral sex–I hadn’t known that the giver had to move her mouth/tongue.
