Children today more immoral than yesteryear?

" 92 percent had lied to a parent
76% had lied to a teacher
more than 1 in 4 would lie to get a job
1 in 6 had come to class drunk
47% said they could get a gun if they wanted one"

I did all of those things except lying to get a job when I was in high school & I graduated in 1977.
I have lied several times as an adult to get a job; in fact, I, er, stretched the truth Monday to snag a job.
Damn kids. They are as rotten as I am.

Naw. Compared to typhus, tuberculosis, or the black plague, syphillus was a rather second-rate disease. AIDS is a bigger deal nowadays than syphillus was then, because all the other “big” deadly infectious diseases have been pretty well wiped out.

(Of course, there’s always Ebola…)

Not sure “morality” is the right context, but has their been any effect on today’s kids that they have such ready access to graphic violence, pornography, and pervasive foul language? Does the lower percentage of 2 parent families with one stay at home parent have any difference?

A couple of differences I will suggest (whether my observations are accurate, or these trends are good or bad, I will leave to you) are that kids today seem to have far less respect for adults/authority than I recall (born in 1960), and kids are afforded more a more prominent role in terms of family dynamics/resources.
