FedYecchs has been and gone. I did feel kinda bad for that guy, since the boxes were rather large (not heavy, though. Just bulky contents). I think I now have a year’s worth of TP and paper towels in stock. All things considered, I would not be surprised by bursts of panic shoppers at any time, so I want to have ample reserves of necessities. My back hurts a lot lately and the business of it taking a moment for my blood to catch up to my head when I stand is getting old. Blood pressure isn’t THAT low lately! (Systolic is typically 120s at this point, except for the day I forgot my lisinopril.) Aging is not for the weak. ---

After almost 3 years of not having so much as a sniffle, (Yay! masks!) I may be coming down with something. My sinuses are stuffed up, my nose is running, and I have a headache and generally feel yuck. So **Wifey** is driving Sister-in-law to the airport without me. In a couple of hours she’ll be on a plane back to Atlanta. It’s a mixed blessing. We get along pretty well, all things considered, but she can be pretty annoying. I can’t figure out why she thinks she loves us. She didn’t used to when my brother was alive. 🤔 Anyway, she’s gone. Until the next time. She left behind some packages of instant grits. I tried some this morning for breakfast. They tasted okay, but kinda gritty. **Rebo** , for some reason I could see the video of Lola, but couldn’t get it to come off mute, so couldn’t hear her. She’s a cutie though. Vinnie used to watch other animals on the TV, but Gibbs ignores them. Don’t know what that means, if anything. He’s a smart little guy otherwise. **Paintcharge,** I would say you need a rescue dog. No particular reason, except that older dogs need love too. Was appalled about the shooting in texas too. and then not at all encouraged by Biden’s speech. **Warning - soap box being drug out.** If congress does do ‘something’ it’ll just be another feel-good law that will just inconvenience and annoy law-abiding gun owners without having any appreciable effect on the actual societal problems that create nutters that want to shoot up schools. **shoves soap box back under the couch** Sorry about that. **Doggio** , did amazon say _why_ you won’t be able to download books on your older kindle? I have a couple of kindles, one of which is at lest 10 years old, and I didn’t get the e-mail, so I’m curious. Not that it matters that much to me. I don’t relish having to put the window A/C units back in the windows this year but it’ll be getting uncomfortably hot here pretty soon. It’s 75f here already at 11:30am and supposed to reach 80f today. Someday, but not today, I’ll have to tell you about all the fun we’re having trying to get established with a new set of doctors over here. It’ll be a massive post, believe me. I think it was here on the Dope, a long time ago, in which a poster spoke about an elderly gentleman came in to customer servide to return a 2-pack of underwear, they were the wrong size. But the pack was opened, and he was wearing one of them. He wanted to take that pair off and turn it!!! Ugh. ---

Afternoon all. After mailing the package to Brother, I stopped at the gym and swam 1,650 yards (backstroke) in a hour (two 30-minute sessions, with whirlpool time in-between). Then 25 minutes in the sauna and the scale says that despite shipboard buffets and no gym for almost three weeks, I’m down about 1/5 lbs. Might be a lying machine, but it’s lying the right way… Sprinkling rain on and off, heavier stuff will be around 6pm according to the weather Wizards. In the underwear discussion, I wear boxer-briefs and so far haven’t felt…pinched. **Sari** , hope all your problems sort themselves out for you. And sounds like you dodged a bullet with him… **Unknown** , end of school year now (at least in N. A quatah past tree. Time to log off from the irkplace. Mr. Sun is out, so I’ll have to get out for a walk. Things I did today (other than irking): - Goofed off online; - Put my kayak on the dolly; - Washed the old kayak seat; - Retrieved my PFD; - Pounded a couple of chicken thighs, fried them, and ate one; - Cleaned the stove; - Cleaned the toilet. The Spousal Unit has taken her two empty propane tanks to get filled. I’ll have to bring them in, because they’re too heavy for her when they’re full. ---

I have my car back, and it was weird driving it after almost 2 months (the accident was Mar 29) - I had to remember where all the various controls are. I’ve been driving 4 other vehicles of late, ranging from a truck that is the most basic model possible (down to manual windows and locks) to **FCD** ’s Caddy, which has power everything and all kinds of magical buttons. We’ll see how long it takes for me to remember. Tomorrow, SIL will bring the truck back and take his HHR and we’ll be back to what passes for normal! 🤣 One less thing… ---

There is a couple who raise their first clutch in our yard every year. Recently, I learned that they don’t really like taking baths. Unlike other birds who splash and chirp and seem to be having fun, Thrashers kinda belly flop into the water and stand there looking disgruntled. After a couple of seconds, they will fluff their feathers while looking even more annoyed, then hope out and shake off with “Ugh, yuch” written large in every movement. I just watched the patriarch of the flock hop out of the bath and run all of the other birds off because he was so crabby about having to take a bath so I thought I would share the laugh with you guys 🙂 ---

I’m glad we didn’t have children, I don’t think things are going to get better until after they get much worse. Back to birds, I planned and planted to have a nice active yard, I feed the birds and grow clover and flowers for the butterflies and hummers. If you build it, they will come, I can usually count on seeing around 10 species of birds in our yard each day and more traveling overhead. I’m very much enjoying this! ---

Last night I dreamt that I wanted to roll across a bed and drop off the other side to hide. I woke up on my real life floor, scrapes up my elbow and my sheets tangled around my legs. I haven’t sleep-done anything in literal decades. My head didn’t hurt, so I don’t think I knocked it against my nightstand, but I have no idea how that didn’t happen, especially with how high my bed is off the floor. I did knock over my alarm clock on the far edge of the nightstand; maybe that indicates I fell in a certain way or something…? ---
