# Chinese oil imports

Does the U.S. import any appreciable amount of oil from China?

Well, according to this list on the top 15 countries from which the [US imports oil](http://www.rantburg.com/opinion/default.asp?D=11/22/2004&ID=163), it appears we must get less than 79,000 barrels a day from them.

I didn’t know we got so much oil from Canada!

According to the [CIA factbook](http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/geos/ch.html), China imports 1.2 million barrels of oil/day.
