As if we didn’t have enough problems with al Qaeda, now we get the “Hutaree”, which sound like something out of a weird Star Trek episode. Yeah, let’s kill police and make way for the Second Coming (or whatever). According to MSNBC, even the “normal” militia types didn’t want anything to do with these nutjobs. Aw, they took down there myspace page and the cached version doesn’t have the same color scheme, so no link. But it was like camo background with camo colored font, pictures of men crawling around in the grass wearing head to toe camo and lots of dark green and brown colored user icons. Readability was…not good. I think I’m going to see if I can get the FBI to hire me to make an automated computer program that periodically downloads every myspace page, analyzes the percent of the page that is either dark green or brown, and automatically faxes a search warrent request to the local judge for all pages that come up over 95%. ---

They were planning terrorist attacks. If GITMO was good enough for other people, it’s good enough for them. But, it won’t go down that way. And if it did, the same people who have supported GITMO, waterboarding, and rendition would be horrified now because (dare I say it) it isn’t brown people with turbans. Just what is the penalty for sedition these days? ---

They showed a brief clip of one of the Conspirators youtube manifestos, and it was kinda weird how close it looked to one of Al-Queda’s video releases. Two guys holding semi-automatic rifles, with their faces covered and some camo-netting in the background. One guy in the foreground talking to the camera and the other guy slightly behind him just standing and looking menacing. Hard to imagine Christian militiamen would consciously mimic the style of radical islamic groups, so I guess violent religous nuts the world over just kinda dig the same aesthetics. ---
