All fine and good thing to wish for, but her albums are already out. Someone in my apartment building below me quite enjoys blasting Christina’s album at… well loud enough that I can hear it clearly. Which of course, I would rather not. Man, I need to move… ---

Debbie Gibson … and Tiffany. The twin towers of late '80s teen pop. I thought Tiffany was a smidge hotter. Christina Aguilera’s cover shot on “Rolling Stone” looked yucky. She looked a little like a witch. ---

I saw a story on E! (or something similar) that one of the two beauty queens, Britney or Christina (I want to say it was Christina), was doing cover shots for Seventeen magazine and picking out her clothing and posing and the Seventeen people had to cover her up a bit (clothing wise) and glean through the photos to pick out ones that weren’t as “sexy”. The Seventeen reps said something like “We try not to be promote a really sexy look on our covers too much and \_\_\_\_ (Britney or Christina) really wanted to go for a much sexier look than we generally like”. 18 y/o. 19 y/o. get a grip. They don’t even know what good sex is. Sheesh! ---

I had a dream the other night that Britney, Christina, et al, were marooned on a desert island. A few days later a group of young, talented, good-looking men was also marooned on the island. The divas were all atwitter at the thought of receiving the attention they considered to be their due, until they found out it was the LA Gay Men’s Choir. They became so distraught (the divas, that is) that they all climbed to the top of the tallest coconut tree on the island and they all committed suicide. I must admit I had a chubby when I woke up. ---

The only time I got a feeling of true emotion when hearing Christina sing was when she did that commercial singing “me-me-me-me-me!”. That one sounded like it came from the heart. Also, from everything I’ve heard, Christina is the one teen queen who seems to be able to give Mariah Carey a run for her money in claiming the title “Bitch Queen of the Known Universe”. ---

As many have alluded to here, these young’uns are just the latest bubblegum pop incarnation. Forget Debbie and Tiffany. Remember Shaun Cassidy? Leif Garrett? David Cassidy (Keith Partridge)? This goes back a LONG ways. This music is for kids and young teens. Why are you listening to it? If that’s all your local radio station plays, I suggest blowing it up. Or, if you want to avoid the jail time, buy CDs of good music. Remember about 25 years ago, when Top 40 music was actually pretty good? Why is the Top 40 so saturated with this junk now? I’ll tell you why. It’s the fault of **you parents** out there. You’re giving your kids too much allowance money, or being too indulgent when they say, “ohpleasecanIgetthenewBritneyCDohpleaseohplease.” I am proud to say that, with the exception of Britney and Christina, I haven’t a clue who those other popsters listed are. ---

Dear Mr. Coldfire: I was amused but not very surprised to see that someone else had noticed and addressed this terrible phenomenon of minimal talent and grossly inflated egos being used as a weapon to inflict unmeasurable pain and suffering on the unsuspecting public. I deeply regret using your intellectual property without your express written consent. Where shall I send the royalty check? In my defense, I would like to point out that your far superior thread unfortunately had run its course before I became a member of this prestigious MB in August. I can in no way ever hope to aspire to its eloquence and wit, so I hereby vow never to post on this particular subject again. As God as my witness, I shall never go trolling again.
