# Christmas Cards for Doper Kids 2012

Christmas is coming! Following on the success of [Christmas Cards for Doper Kids 2011](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=632482) and all the earlier Christmas Cards for Doper Kids, in which Dopers were requested to send Christmas cards to Dopers’ kids who liked getting cards addressed directly to them, is there any interest in another go for this year? I’m sure there are still Doper kids who would enjoy getting their own personal cards from far off (or nearby) places, and I would certainly enjoy sending them out again.
If there’s enough interest, I will co-ordinate passing on kid’s names and addresses by PM, as in past years.

I was just thinking about this this morning and was wondering if we were doing it again… fired up the Dope and here it is!
Last year my two boys were on the recieving end and recieved probably a dozen cards from strangers - they were thrilled. This year, I would like to return the favor. I would like to put my kids’ names on the list for both sending and recieving. We would be happy to send a dozen or so cards out, and would be happy to send internationally. IIRC last year there was a Doper kid in China that wanted to recieve but could not send out. Put me on the list for sending cards to wherever they are requested.
(And if any Doper grown-ups want extra Christmas cards sent to them, put me on that list as well!)

A good start. If anyone who wants to receive cards for their kids can PM me with names and addresses, I will start a list. I’ll wait a week or so to PM them to everyone who wants to send cards, to keep the number of follow-up PMs to a minimum.

I’m sure I could send out a few cards from Indiana. Either me, or one my six dogs, whatever floats your kid’s boat. I always have extra stamps and stationary when I get done with my regular list. Send me the details, and I’ll add them to the end of the card list. Bonus: I usually take my cards to the Bethlehem, KY post office, and they do a special Christmas postmark. They also accept your cards by mail to receive the special cancellation mark.

Our cards went out yesterday to all the kids. My daughter was so excited to send a card to CHINA omg!!!1!! 🙂
