Yes, any adult should expect some burning. No more than first degree burning, though. First degree burning is when the skin turns red. What this woman experienced, though, was THIRD DEGREE burns. She needed skin grafts! That’s not just some temporary discomfort, that is severe permanent damage…and McDonald’s didn’t want to pay her medical expenses.

They have a variety of offerings there, but many are purely low odds games of chance and carnival type “skill” events. I used to dread the kids putting essentially quarters into a machine only to receive a few penny tickets in return. Much like gambling, I put a limit on the total to be spent before calling it a day. Kids grow out of the CC experience at some point. I don’t know if it contributes to a later addiction unless that is their orientation to begin with. If parents don’t like it, don’t go.

Except when your kid gets invited to a party. High horses aren’t for parents.

> It filed a motion to have Keller’s case dismissed peremptorily on the grounds that its equipment is legal. And in a novel bit of legal reasoning, CEC argued that if the games in question were in fact gambling devices, Keller would be\*\* ineligible to seek damages on the grounds that she had voluntarily participated in illegal gambling.\*\*

Love it!
