Wasn’t there at least one significant cultural element that got started in and around Jerusalem? I’m drawing a blank right now, but I’m sure it’ll come to me in about 6 days. 
The running joke used to be that Brisbane had less culture than a tub of chocolate yoghurt, but things have improved quite a bit here in recent years. Most of the big theatrical productions and shows seem to be in Melbourne or Sydney, though.
Shame the Queensland museum is quite possibly one of the worst “established” museums I’ve ever been too; IMHO it’s an embarrasment to the city and the state.
