May I please ask, if “nobody knows where they are”, what good are they? We really ought to be keeping track of this stuff. (Or is it just like the Russian problem, where the stuff exists on paper?) ---

I have often compared Trumps ramblings to a drunk at a bar. But this is actually worse. A bar drunk would make substantially more sense. ---

I’m just a stupid girl, but don’t submarines take years to build? Ok, I looked it up and the number of years does vary, but the least number of years was 6. So either he’s taking credit for something which began before he was in office or these “machines” aren’t done yet. Or, and I know this is difficult to believe, but it’s possible that Trump is talking out of his stupid fucking ass. Hard to believe, I know. ---

You give too much credence to his thought processes, such as they are. It’s more like, “Ooooh! Nukyoular! Nukyoular power it’s good, and submarine – those are sneaky. If I was president I’d just order one to do a sneaky, good strike against the Russians – except Putin; spare him – and let the guys who run the thing figure it out.” It would be kind of like that [transgender tweet](https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/verabergengruen/new-emails-show-confusion-at-the-pentagon-after-trumps) back in 2017 that confused the hell out of the Pentagon. ---

So there is some truth to that. Subs with nuclear missiles are one of the scariest things the US has in their arsenal. (My dad served for years on a Trident sub, my mom used to work for the groups that refit and supplied them, I used to work around them and the area where they stored the nuclear missiles. I pretty much grew up around them.) That doesn’t make Trump’s rambling any less batshit though. Russia knows damn well how strong the US is. Flexing that strength won’t get Putin to back down, rather the opposite. I imagine he’s already feeling pretty strained with this Ukraine blunder, and if you give him the idea that someone is going to nuke him, I wouldn’t doubt he would strike first out of paranoia and a desperate need to prove his toughness. ---

Well, if Trump doesn’t know where they are, maybe he should visit Seattle. We have the most [deployed nuclear weapons](https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/where-the-nukes-are-20-miles-from-downtown-seattle/) about 20 miles from downtown Seattle. Including 8 out the 14 U.S. nuclear submarines. Heck, they even [advertised](https://www.gzcenter.org/metro-buses-announce-presence-of-nukes-on-puget-sound/) it on the sides of buses a few years back. ---
