Am I correct in assuming that if he appeals this and puts the money (or a bond) up and loses, the money gets handed directly to her? If that’s the case, I would assume, in this situation, with someone that’s well known for not paying his debts, she’d prefer if he appealed it. If that’s how it works, that means she’d get the money, even appeals court lowers it, as soon as the case is over as opposed to as soon as trump pays her. By that same logic, it may also make more sense for Trump not to appeal. He can surely come up with excuse after excuse after excuse to pay her next Wednesday instead of today, but that won’t fly with the courts if he wants to appeal. ---

I would’ve assume the appeals case wouldn’t be able to start until he hands over the money. I thought, at least in part, the reasoning for that was so people aren’t using the appeals court to buy more time. ---

As i understand it, the money goes into an interest-bearing escrow account, and whoever wins the final appeal gets it all. ---
