i reckoned on it being trump who is delusional. from cnn [Trump lashes out at women who accused him of assault after court hearing to appeal verdict in Carroll sex abuse case | CNN Politics](https://www.cnn.com/2024/09/06/politics/donald-trump-e-jean-carroll-appeal/index.html) Flanked by his attorneys and addressing reporters at Trump Tower, the former president attacked Carroll and again claimed he “never met her,” “never touched her,” and that her claim was “fabricated.” Trump also took aim at two women who were witnesses in the trial — Jessica Leeds, who accused Trump of groping her on an airplane in the 1970s, and Natasha Stoynoff, who claimed she was physically attacked by Trump while on assignment for People Magazine at his Mar-a-Lago property in December 2005. ---

And of course the Department of Justice does NOT bring civil cases (which is what this is). Not that Dim Donald is capable of understanding the distinction, of course. ---

Did he already pay the $80M, or would another defamation case punt the bill down the field? If it’s punting, he’ll punt till he’s dead and he will never pay (he doesn’t care if his estate pays and his kids get nothing). ---

The $80 million bond was the good one. IIRC, he put up properties he actually owns as collateral.
