I’ve made comparable progress payments to utility contractors. It’s not very hard to transfer electronically or prepare a cashier’s check. In the latter case, I would personally take it directly to the bank—do not pass go—and wait to endorse it until I was in front of a teller. ---

Although for some reason when I sold my previous house, the proceeds were in the form of a cheque from the real estate lawyer. Man, that was one little piece of paper I definitely did not want to see blow away in the wind! ---

As a Canadian lawyer, I’ve signed a few such cheques. It’s a little nerve-wracking, but necessary to conclude the deal. ---

I’ll also add, it just takes a long time. Here is a web site talking about a bunch of reasons why it can take a while to receive money in a New York court. If you Google, you can find page after page talking about various things that can cause delays, but bottom line is, it can take a while and that’s just how the courts are. You can hope that this case is faster than most, given all the time it has already taken, the appeals already exhausted, money already in escrow (so no need to go after the other party directly), but you just don’t get the money right away. ---

I find it very hard to believe that all this money transfer information isn’t already in the hands of the proper people. “First they need to…” statements fall flatter than a two dimensional depiction of a pancake. ---

Whether she actually gets paid or not, and I understand she’s actually owed $88 million with the defamation lawsuit, it seems to me the point is to show what scum he is. And MAGA and half of brainwashed America loves him anyway. ---

I agree. It would be nice to hold him down and force him to pay. But has Trump ever paid anyone? Lawyers? Contractors? Bonuses for citizens? And as long as the Republicans are in charge of all three branches of gov’t, he never will. Maybe that will change come November. ---
