# Clarence Clemons suffers stroke,  RIP

Clarence lived in my neck of the woods and was quite the fixture here. Beloved is not too strong a word.

I encountered him many times at the local watering holes and in my gym. He was like a big, happy puppy dog. Always gracious and friendly.

[This is a nice story](http://www.pbpulse.com/music/2011/06/20/a-fan-s-chance-encounter-with-clarence-clemons/) about two fan’s encounter with the Big Man. In my experience, this was typical Clarence. His heart was even bigger than his body.

Rest In Peace, Big Man.
