# Clarify "pushing my luck," please, Marley?

You tell me I’m pushing my luck [here](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=633468) , Marley–would you indulge me by telling me what exactly you mean? I’m using an obviously outdated column to cite a tone that hasn’t been struck around here for a few decades? I’m already on the Mods’ “hit list” and would be wise not to annoy anyone with banning powers? There’s an unstated rule that I’m violating in questioning Cecil’s tone?

If you’d like to help me avoid a lifetime ban, you might specify what you mean by “pushing [my] luck.” I honestly don’t understand what you want me to change about my behavior in posting what I did, so I’d appreciate a little more guidance.

I saw it more as “cruisin for a bruisin” than “pushin your luck”.
