# Classic column re: Charles Drew, surgeon

Today the classic [column](http://www.straightdope.com/classics/a5_073.html) from 1989 regarding a black surgeon caught my eye.

I’m wondering why Cecil didn’t take the questioner to task for his error in asking about the man who “ **invented** blood plasma” (my bolding).

According to the article, Dr. Drew

Heh. I was wondering that too. I thought surely Cecil would call him out on that. Must have been an off day for Cecil when he wrote that column.
