"Classic" movies or TV shows with situations or premises basically impossible today

He told a bunch of people he was on his way to Wallyworld, but most people probably figured that he was planning on some other destination beforehand, so that the park would have reopened by the time he got there - he was driving after all and could have taken a detour to Mt Rushmore or a longer stop at the Grand Canyon. With a plane, the chance of someone saying “Gee, you lucked out going to NotAnaheim while WallyWorld is closed - flight prices are really low this week”

P.S. I heard a story years ago, about an American submariner who went to Holy Loch Scotland in the mid-1990s - when the American base there had closed in 1992 (I have no idea how that could have happened).

Thank you - I remember that episode, and thought I’d remember if it had been a Beatles song.

A personal favorite of John Lennon,[4] it became part of the Beatles’ early repertoire and was consequently recorded by them for their 1963 debut album, Please Please Me.[5]

Was it the Beatles version on “Married With Children” (serious question - I’m just curious)

Okay, rather than try and pin this on the mandalorian effect (;)), I’ll just say that midway through the episode, going off the script you so kindly linked to, the song does play on the radio and the hilarity continues as he then tries to use those lyrics to find the song, assuming the refrain “go with him” must be the title.

P.S. In the Honey I Shrunk the Kids tv series, the father (Wayne) is trying to remember a song he heard once on TV - he uses time travel to find it, leading to a Soviet takeover of the United States (because of course it does).

And in my opinion is John Lennon’s finest vocal performance.

No.

Especially since other episodes do show/describe the computer terminals being used for general information access (e.g. “Space Seed”, with Khan being given access to learn what he needs to know to [DEL]take over the ship[/DEL] catch up to the 23rd century).

An early example of the Star Trek tradition for IFOS (Invader-Friendly Operating System).
