You called it DarkWriter. It also starred George Segal as a police detective and Lee Remick as his love interest. Besides being a pretty good story, I think this film is prototypical of the 1960s detective film.
Zenster, I believe Rod Steiger was also in The Illustrated Man.
And add another comedy, We’re No Angels (1955) with Humphrey Bogart, Aldo Ray, Peter Ustinov, Joan Bennett, Basil Rathbone, and Leo G. Carroll. Not that excruciating drivel from 1989 by the same name starring(?) Robert De Niro and Sean Penn.
I also think you need something with Tracey and Hepburn, how about Adam’s Rib? And a comedy with Cary Grant…Father Goose(1964) or His Girl Friday (1940), or Arsenic And Old Lace from 1944. And yes, I’ve seen all these films. More than once.
You’re welcome octothorpe.A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum is my all time favorite musical comedy. And my wife hates, hates, hates it. Go figure.
How could I forget Tracy and Hepburn? I absolutely love Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner? Sidney Poitier is a damn fine actor as well.
Cary Grant in Arsenic and Old Lace, of course, but also hilarious in Bringing Up Baby with Hepburn. I also enjoyed Houseboat with Cary Grant and I believe Sophia Loren.
