Anyway, before **levdrakon** stomped back in here with sand in his urethra and a sulky pout on his face, I thought I made a potentially interesting point about its being rather sexist and unfair to automatically label guys “losers” on the basis of superficial status markers like jobs and relationships. Any takers? ---

Yeah, just because MRAs are mostly counterproductive whiners doesn’t mean that there don’t exist any societal phenomena that are genuinely unfair to men. Of course, the cure for that unfairness is **more** feminism, not less. Stereotyped gender expectations are a feminist issue no matter which gender they’re being applied to. ---

Any takers? I’ll agree with this. BUT there’s a big difference between being mentally ill and unable to work and being a lazy ass mooching off your parents at nearly 40yo. I don’t grok much at what a person does for a living, as long as you’re putting in an honest 40hrs a week (or sincerely trying too) you’re alright in my book. That includes 40+ year old men (or women) flipping burgers at McDonald’s. ---

(Or, for that matter, that men need to be in such a relationship to justify their right to criticize anti-male sexism.) I think healthy, happy, feminism-positive relationships are terrific. But I don’t think personal experience of them needs to be invoked to validate anyone’s opinions. ---
