Clear Channel Radio Networks' Anti Filesharing Stance

Yet another reason why I like my senator.

Think that’s ominous? Take a load of this.

Oh the irony. Hypocracy indeed.

Are you complaining about the “How many clicks does it take?” ad? I hate that one. Plus, the answer should be three, not one. They can’t even get that right! Those ads just make me steal more. Where is my eyepatch and parrot?

Tell me, what can I do to help destroy ClearChannel?

Looks like the courts are lining up behind Clear Channel’s ally in the war against file-sharing, the RIAA.

I’m just wondering why Clear Channel cares at all about piracy? The CCC stations we have here in L.A. don’t play any more than 40 songs each (at most). Are they actually afraid that people downloading these songs will get sick of the songs faster than hearing them at least 3 times on the radio per day? (I kid you not; I’ve heard the same songs more than 3 times in the same day on a CCC station. What’s worse was the song sucked.)

On a tangent, I can’t help but be reminded of the South Park episode “The Butters Show.” I can picture CCC saying something similar to OJ, Gary Condit, and the other guest stars on that ep: “Um, yeah, it’s obvious that our plummeting ratings is the result of ‘pirates,’ yeah, that’s it, ‘pirates,’ and we hope that these ‘pirates’ are brought to justice soon.”
