# Climeworks: would you buy their carbon offsets?

_ **Absolutely not.** _ Your $X will buy just $X worth of mitigation, even assuming Climeworks is non-profit and honest.

Your $X is better spent helping to elect politicians who think as you do on remedies for climate change. Will that $X provide _leverage_, i.e. more value than $X of mitigation? I can’t guarantee that it will. _But if it doesn’t, then we’re doomed._
