Yeah, and maybe the next gadget Wile E. Coyote orders from ACME will function as advertised and catch the Roadrunner.

And yeah it’s not just my “biased view” from the article “56 percent — disapproved of the FBI director’s recommendation not to charge Clinton, and 57 percent said the issue made them at least somewhat worried about how she might handle her responsibilities as president.”

Seriously?

There is zero chance there will be a perjury charge. Zero. You know it, I know it, the American people know it.

Maybe you think there should be a perjury charge, but you’re not running the FBI. There will be no perjury charge.

Can you please face facts. Hillary Clinton is not going to be defeated because of a scandal. The only way you can defeat Hillary Clinton is if more people vote for Trump than vote for Hillary.

If you want more people to vote for Trump, maybe spend some time explaining why Trump would make a better president than Hillary. If you think making false statements to the public means you’re unfit to be the President, then how’s Trump going to work for you?

I didn’t see it above, even though it’s so obvious that nothing else matters.

Clinton has to be the Democratic nominee.

Why? Because Donald Trump is the Republican nominee. And he is their nominee because he is a _celebrity_. A media star. A person whose every utterance draws crowds and headlines. Someone who crushed all the conventional politicians with, you know, actual political experience.

The only guarantee the Democrats have of beating a celebrity is with another even more famous celebrity. Wow, does that narrow the options. There is only one politician in the country who is not merely qualified to be President but who is a _celebrity_, a media star, someone whose every utterance draws crowds and headlines, someone who has instant name recognition.

That’s Hillary Clinton.

Really, it’s that simple. Bill Clinton and Barack Obama are ineligible. No fourth person exists. Clinton will win because she is extremely highly qualified, but mostly because she’s already the most famous woman in America. We live in a celebrity culture. This is where it’s gotten us.

A very questionable premise. I think Biden could’ve trounced Trump had he decide to run. I can’t imagine anyone who would vote for HRC who would not vote for Biden, but I can think of quite a few people who would vote for Biden, but not for HRC.

That is not to say that I think HRC should withdraw in favor of Biden. At this point, it would be disastrous for her to withdraw unless she was actually convicted of a crime or there was a scandal an order of magnitude great than the E-Mail one.

I’m not a Trump supporter, I’m a Bernie supporter but I accept he lost, thats not my point here. I think the US public should demand better from their candidates than either Clinton or Trump. Look at the unfavorables, you can keep saying they don’t matter but it’s an undeniable historical fact that there has never before in US history been an election where both major party candidates have unfavorables ratings above 50%. It’s a sad fact of the current US political system that third party votes are wasting a vote, it doesn’t have to be that way (eg preferential voting).

What I’m impressed by is the way they’re spinning the FBI report in two opposing directions. Republicans are simultaneously saying that the FBI said Clinton is guilty and that the FBI needs to be investigated for denying Clinton is guilty.

Yeah except she has name recognition as a corrupt politician in bed with Wall Street. Again you can dismiss me as biased but the Wapo article I quote above states that 56% disagree with the FBI decision not to charge her. I want the democrats to win, but that statistic should be a valid reason for you to doubt her.

The only manner I know of for people to make such a demand is by voting in primary elections. Republicans had plenty of alternatives to Trump, but I guess they made their bed.

I’m still puzzled as to how the Dems arrived to the point we are. I still think Clinton will be a good president, and I’m looking forward to her inauguration, but I’m still surprised that there were only a few couple-hearted candidates plus a fringe candidate running against her in the primary.

It’s funny, because Bill didn’t have much opposition because when he announced, Bush (the elder) had sky-high approval ratings (probably due the first Gulf War being underway and being so successful). Now we see Hilary having had little opposition, one imagines, because she was seen as such a shoe-in. It took Bernie to show how vulnerable she was and I can imagine there are more than a few Democratic presidential hopefuls kicking themselves right now (including Biden).

I’d like to think that any qualified Democrat would win against Trump, if only because of the Electoral College math. I’m less sure that Biden would be the person that everybody would rally around to not merely trounce Trump but win back the Senate and, with a much lower probability, win the House. Biden is liked, but I’ve never seen evidence that he is revered or has hordes of dedicated followers, not to mention fantastic connections with the big money donors coremelt loves to hate. He wasn’t in the top three in the 2008 primaries. He’s not a celebrity. He has some good name recognition but that’s about it.

If he were the nominee it would be a contest between a 70-year-old white male and a 73-year-old white male. How much incentive does that give compared to electing the first woman president? Clinton’s numbers among women are off the charts. Biden couldn’t replicate that.

And neither could Sanders, whose base wasn’t with women, who vote in a higher percentage than men, but with the young, who vote in much lower percentages than anybody.

To answer the OP’s question, she’d have to do something that would either make me doubt that she could beat Trump, or make me suspect that she would be worse than Trump. Nothing she’s done so far come close to meeting either category. If she had been criminally indicted, then I’d be close on the first one.
