AFAICT, the outrage is that: 1. ISIS is not getting destroyed fast enough to eliminate the chance of those counter-attacks. 2. America will not be protected against 100% of those counter-attacks. 3. Americans will therefore die. 4. Podesta, and therefore Hillary, only care about the political fallout and not the dead Americans. Of course, it’s somewhat ridiculous to think that there’s a better strategy for handling ISIS that will destroy the organization and prevent any attacks (well, unless Trump wants to reveal his secret plan), and it’s ridiculous to think that Hillary wouldn’t be upset about dead Americans on her watch, but that’s the outrage as I understand it. ---

Trump shuttle’s flight of insanity is progressing from dangerous but possible recoverable stall, to a full-on unrecoverable plunge. He’s no longer in control of the news cycle, and he really hasn’t been all week. The debate was a brief recovery period but that was the calm before the storm. Considering that the number of sexual assaults that get reported compared to the number that actually occur is quite low, I am almost certain that there are many, many more women out there right now who are on the verge of coming forward with their lurid stories of groping and I would not rule out one or more allegations of forcible rape. It takes time for the women to muster the courage to commit to outing this type of thuggery. It takes more time to consult with an attorney and a support group to prepare for the kinds of hell that they know will come from a billionaire bully like Trump. It takes time for reporters to vet the story. But there are almost certainly many more stories out there, and we know this because Donald Trump operated for years with the assumption of impunity. This is not a behavior that he engages in once every five or six years – it’s perpetual. Trump is going to become the political equivalent of Bill Cosby. ---

As others said, depends which particular email or aspect and how you define ‘big deal’. But I think a politician running for leader of country A would rather not have emails from when the candidate was foreign minister talking about country A’s problem with Qatar allegedly funding ISIL alongside emails talking about a $1mil birthday present from Qatar to that’s candidate’s spouse. I doubt a person from another country with not enough interest in the US to have heard the actual story would be shocked if told that became a significant scandal in country A. I think they might be more surprised if it didn’t. But of course it depends on the overall situation in country A. ‘Hey look at that squirrel!’ can work to deflect, and maybe it’s a rabid squirrel. ---
