They consider Trump to be as buffoonish as most everyone else with a brain, but one they could control once elected. Trump’s presidency would be titular with the real power distributed among various members of Congress. They believe they would be getting another Dubya in Trump but one who cared even less about the details and with little desire to actually perform the functions of President.

Thing is, they can’t even control him now. What makes them think they could control him if he were elected President?

Your cranky aunt is a perceptive lady. However, feeling sorry for someone is never a good reason to elect someone to the most powerful position in the free world. Hillary must be wondering why this is even a contest. I think he has a learning disability, personally; it’s not just that he doesn’t read, he probably actually can’t or has comprehension problems. He’s a fake Rolex rly peddler with a boiling dollar bank account. His lack of intelligence on anything related to government is embarrassingly obvious, especially compared to the witty and intelligent man who currently holds the office of President. Trump would definitely be a HYUUUGE step backwards. He makes George W Bush seem like a scholar by comparison.

Remember way back when it was assumed that Trump was just running to increase the value of his brand?

New Trump properties will [no longer be named “Trump”](http://www.travelandleisure.com/hotels-resorts/trump-scion-hotels) but rather “Scion” amidst falling occupancy rates.

Maybe making your name poison to everyone except white men without college educations isn’t the best way to market luxury hotels.

(I tried to answer this yesterday, but I was on my Surface and after I’d written 90% of my reply, somehow I lost it.)

Illinois has open primaries. I think they record which ballot you accept. I have voted in the Republican primary at times – my county (Dupage) used to be so Republican that the Dems often didn’t field a candidate in some local elections that in order to have a choice I felt I had to vote in the Pub primary. At any rate, after the first time I voted in the Pub primary I started to get USPS mail from GOP candidates.

I voted in the Pub primary this year, too – solely so that I could vote against Trump. (It was a pretty good bet that both Clinton and Duckworth would win the Dem primary.) However the only mail the household has gotten so far from the Pubs is 2-3 pieces from Trump that were addressed to my mother. I had my mother’s mailing address changed to mine after she died in 2010. She was registered to vote in Cook County, not Dupage, so apparently whoever coordinates the mailings wasn’t cross-referencing their list (clearly quite old) with voter registrations.

When I’ve worked phones for Clinton, the list was entirely supporters and the main objectives were to assure the person would actually vote (we have info on early voting locations if needed) and (I think more importantly) to ask people to volunteer. On Thursday evening, we were asking for people to go to Iowa to knock on doors.

The Duckworth campaign has different objectives for its phone bank. We called people all over Illinois, and the list was I believe based on registered voters. I had a number of people hang up on me.

I did get some robocalls before the primary. I have received only one call for the general election – and that was from the Dems about volunteering again (I had also volunteered for Obama in 2012).

If he was “damn near puking”, imaging the guy who has his old job. Reince Priebus is probably curled up in a fetal position sobbing uncontrollably by now.

Along with suing the press, Trump U. and the 13 year old, it sounds like The Donald will spend most of his term in court.

I am not getting squat from either, though I took a Pub ballot one primary to vote against someone.

We need a Dupage Dope. It can be you, me, and **Dinsdale**. And if you are in his district, vote for Steve Swanson for state rep. His wife will thank you because he’s been at loose ends since he retired as my pastor and there are only so many protests at McDonalds HQ to get arrested at.

I disagree. Ryan can probably still get reelected in his Wisconsin district, when/if Trump loses, and his colleagues in the House GOP will understand what a fine line he had to walk. I agree Ryan’s presidential prospects in 2020 or beyond are poor, given how many pissed-off GOP primary and caucus voters there will be, but he might remain Speaker for quite awhile longer.

He got off to a good start, opening his appearance with “It is my privilege to be here in Gettysburg, hallowed ground where so many lives were given in service to freedom — amazing place.” He’s aware of the special place Gettysburg has in American history.

Then he went on to whine of an unfair media and say that all those women were lying just to hurt his campaign.

[Trump’s 28-Point Policy Plan](http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=125980126) is a real howler. It starts off with the ridiculous premise that he can get all this done in the first 100 days. I especially like “Cancel every unconstitutional executive action, memorandum and order issued by President Obama”, “Direct the Secretary of Commerce and U.S. Trade Representative to identify all foreign trading abuses that unfairly impact American workers and direct them to use every tool under American and international law to end those abuses immediately” and “Propose a Constitutional Amendment to impose term limits on all members of Congress”(good luck getting THAT one out of committee, Trumpy!).

But the only medical information I’ve seen about Trump lately has come from Dr. Feelgood, who wrote the memorable release on Donald’s stunning physical condition a few months ago. It seems possible that the man who wrote such a weird medical history for his patient might also be a little cavalier in his prescribing methods.

That would make a great episode of House, M.D.:

Chase- House, I know we have discovered Trump’s inadvertent self-medicating for his ADHD, but I don’t think we should tell him or treat him. Hippocratic oath be damned, but we have bigger things to worry about than one man’s mental health!

Cameron- I can’t believe you! Has House completely corrupted your moral compass?!? Trump is our _patient_. We have a duty to that, outside consequences be damned.

Chase- What? You think we should give Trump a treatment that will help him win the election? What happens after that? We’ll probably all get nuked by ISIS, after giving Texas away to the Russians.

Cameron- You sound more like a politician than a doctor. Trump is a _human being_! Why don’t you have any compassion?!?

Chase- Wot? I’m a human being, too. So are you. 300 million human beings have to live with the consequences of what we decide to do with this differential diagnosis.

House- Now now, you two. Why don’t you just go have sex and make up and be nice again?

Cameron and Chase [in unison]- WE JUST _HAD_ SEX!
