See, I think that’s one of the stupidest things they’ve done through all of this! Why are they announcing that? I believe both sides are tired of nothing getting done. Even if obstruction is their only play, they should keep it to themselves. Kind of like how they’d have looked better if they’d held hearings but refused to confirm, rather than announce up front, “We won’t even hold hearings!” This behaviour makes them appear, embarrassingly, like petulant children, I think! ---

As long as the Democrats win Presidential elections, the President should be kept as powerless as possible, as an issue of basic morality. Yes, this is blatant hostage-taking. The more intelligent Republicans currently in office know they’ll get primaried from the right if they break ranks with it, and the new Republicans either believe it or know they have to appear to believe it in order to have a chance in their primaries. The only tonic is getting Democrats and Democratic-leaning Independents to vote in midterms. ---

Well, in a certain sense, \*\*elbows \*\*is right, Republicans \*are \*tired of nothing getting done. They are waiting for a Republican to have the Oval Office, so they can finally stop obstructing Democratic presidents. ---

Is this election going to be high turnout or low? Should be high, but then again plenty of people are turned away by the negatives of both Clinton and Trump, so it could be offset by all the folks staying home. But with the lots of early voting gone on, maybe we’re looking at around 63% turnout, pretty high? ---

They’re signaling something to a specific constituency who wants this exact petulant behavior. And they know that there’s another constituency who will still with them despite it. ---

I admit had really high hopes for the RNC convention. Guns make everyone safer, right? Especially people standing near RW patriots carrying guns. ---

Waiting for more detail on Trump rally disturbance. Hearing both “assassination attempt” and “false flag” from commenters and it’s really, really irritating. Some new sites saying “assassination attempt” too, but not providing evidence. ---
