Assorted silliness aside a federal judge ruled that an early voting location in a heavily black section of Miami-Dade needs to stay open tonight until 9pm to accommodate the waiting line of people. Shades of Nevada? Edit: I said “Latino” based on a previous report [but this story says](http://www.miamiherald.com/news/politics-government/election/article112956318.html) it’s predominately black. Same story indicates that it was open late due to road closures, not number of people which is again contrary to other stuff I saw. ---

If you think in terms of Hillary having maintained a lead despite this negative pressure, taking the pressure off two days before the election has got to be helpful. The legitimate concern that many voters might have had was the prospect of electing someone who would spend much of their first term under a Watergate-like cloud and ongoing investigation. Removing this risk is a fairly big deal, IMHO. Of course there are a bunch of Congressional Republicans who are threatening to do this anyway, but at least now it would be seen as groundless shit-disturbing by lunatic partisans and not likely to get much traction. ETA: This was actually supposed to go in the FBI investigation thread, oh well. ---

I was under the impression that the only real question was whether or not these e-mails originated with Hillary or were at least sent to her. Otherwise, that whole “pertinent” thingy gets in the way. What if Comey isn’t covering up for Trump, or Hillary, or even himself? What if he is covering up for his people? What if they looked anyway, without getting the warrant? (There was a story out there, IIRC, suggesting the Comey didn’t know about his at all until he was briefed the day before he sent the first letter, but don’t remember perzackly, therefore I do not offer this as fact, unless somebody remembers better.) ---

The Peso only cares about Trump as far as the election, and the election is pushing it around much more relative to normal fundamentals than is the case for anything else. And it’s very easy to speculate on, with plenty of bang for buck, via futures on the Peso. Purest that is besides just betting on the election. But even to the extent you can do that legally from the US, winnings are ordinary income and losses aren’t deductible: it’s almost impossible to be smart enough to beat that unfavorable tax treatment in the long run. ---

If Trump loses Tuesday, is there a chance he will run again? Do you think he has 1 more in him? He’ll be 74 years old then, that’s pretty old for the rigors of a campaign. Do you think one of his sons or Ivanka will run? After watching hundreds of hours of CNN over that past couple of weeks, I want Anderson Cooper to run for President. 😉 ---

This would be consistent with the Trump is a Narcissist theory, which has been supported in other ways throughout this campaign. I seriously doubt he’ll be allowed by his entourage to try again in 2020, or ever, due to the immense damage he did to his brand in this cycle, and the fact his opponents will know enough by then to hit him hard and constantly, provoking him into doing even further damage to his only real source of income. The Republican field underestimated his support among the base, and overestimated their own in the process, and they won’t make that mistake twice. His handlers could keep a tighter leash on him, but that would reduce his primary way of garnering support: Saying insane shit the base loves. That’s also what hurts his brands, so it’s not a winning strategy overall, but it feeds Trump’s ego and helps him in the short-term goal of keeping the spotlight on him and even helps him win against divided primary fields where his base is the largest single block within the party. ---
