I’m saying that my opinion is that state law cannot preemptively bind someone to perform an act that, by its very nature, is a fundamental process of the Constitution. In my opinion, it’s like arresting a Federal judge for conspiracy if he is going to work to issue a ruling that is against the interest of whatever state he happens to be in.
ETA: besides, what state government in your scenario is going to insist on electors voting for Trump instead of Pence or whomever? Answer: none. Because every red state governor knows that it is better to have the vote count he 270-268 for Pence than it is to have 255 for Pence, 268 for Clinton, and 5 for Trump - throwing things to the House in which Pence would be elected anyway.

This is a catastrophe of epic proportions. The chorus of Republicans calling for Trump to step down will quickly become deafening. I see no way he can remain a credible candidate going forward. But will his massive ego allow him to step aside? I honestly have no idea.
Pence is screwed either way as well. If he has any genuine desire to become POTUS, taking over at the top of the ticket at this point is career suicide. And staying on the ticket with Trump is the same. The Trump fanatics will abandon the party in droves and sit out the election if he isn’t on the ticket and that is certain doom for the party.

What a lame, sorry excuse for an apology. “I apologize. I met some good people, so I have changed. Bill Clinton is an awful person.”
Absolute crap. Your core people are already defending you, but I can’t believe anyone who was sitting on the fence will fall over to your side. Whatever this statement was supposed to be, it could not have resonated with the intelligent voter.
Interesting that Fox chose not to air it live but kept going on the hurricane coverage…

Will his massive ego allow him to step aside? I say no. I think he really doesn’t see what the big deal is or why people are so upset and disgusted. I wonder if Ivanka could explain it to him.
I see him blaming Crooked Hillary for everything, including the escalating withdrawal of Republican support. She used her witchy powers to turn them against him or something.
