I am not at all surprised that Trump said this stuff. And on the list of reasons Trump should never be president, this clocks in at about #218. But, as others have mentioned upthread, if it this is the final run at the iceberg that sinks the Trumptanic, I’ll take it.
I mean, I would have thought that suggesting the world needs more nuclear armed nations, threatening to leave NATO, asking Russia to hack Clinton’s email, having murky business and political ties to Putin, praising Saddam Hussein, calling for banning all Muslims from entering the US, calling for the quick expulsion of 11 million undocumented immigrants, claiming to be able to pay off the federal debt in his first term, and any of a number of other craziness would have sunk him. But, hey, if actually having tape of him spouting off the casual misogyny we all knew he spouted off in private is the final straw, so be it.

Back up a step. Why was Access Hollywood, an entertainment show, trawling through its archives of out-takes from 11 years ago?

Look, Nate Silver posted the electoral map of the nation, the red and blue one, showing what the vote would look like if women refused to vote for Trump. It was all blue. It’s clear that Trump needs to reach out to women, for their vote that is, not their genitals.
Yes, this is in the top 3 reasons not to vote for Trump. The other two, he’s unqualified and a racist.

At last count, three Republican senators (Sasse, Lee, and Crapo) have called for Trump to step down. Assorted other lawmakers have as well. The chairman of the Ohio Republican Party has assured members they won’t face punishment if they abandon Trump.

I hung out in singles bars in Tokyo for years. There was a fair share of men who thought that they were God’s gift to women and who would brag about their conquests and such.
Of that, there was only one guy who ever bragged about groping women and he got the boot from the group.
This is not normal guy talk.

Nah, there’s no evidence he is any kind of a good enough actor to take an action so antithetical to his base (in both senses) personality. Last night’s non-apology is about as close as he can come, and everyone could see how fake that was.
If he decides to cut his losses and declare bankruptcy on this campaign (unlikely but fun to think about) he could just stay home (and pout) and let Pence campaign on the platform.

Yes. As a woman if someone brags about what sexual moves he tried on me, I would call him a pig. If he kissed me or grabbed my genitals without my consent, I would call the police. One=asshole One=criminal.

I think the ick factor is got to be strong among female voters. My reaction to this story, first and foremost, is Eeewwwwww.
We’ve all encountered that guy. The one that’s so full of himself that he doesn’t realize it takes two to consent. The clueless troll that stuffs his gross halitosis ridden mouth full of tic-tacs before grabbing you with a clumsy lunge and artlessly trying to cram his tongue down your throat, because he’s convinced he’s so desirable that every woman wants a piece of him. And even after he’s been roundly rebuffed, he remains smug in his conviction that it took some great act of willpower on your part to resist his advances. If you tell him you’d rather stick your tongue in a coffee grinder, he remains condescendingly smug.
We all hate that guy. EEWW !!
