Yep. There is very little room for nuance in public discourse. No thought can extend beyond the bounds of a single sentence since it’ll be inevitably be taken out of context. Seeing only the polished public persona, it’s impossible to tell if someone has a real core or not. The leaks demonstrate that Clinton clearly is capable of nuanced, rational thought and isn’t just a collection of platitudes.

The allegations were never tested in court because Broaddrick always refused to testify under the oath. The one statement she made under oath was in a deposition when Paula Jones’ lawyers tried to subpoena her, which can be read here -

People were _begging_ her to accuse Clinton and she steadfastly refused, for decades, and then when the statute of limitations ran out, and it didn’t matter any more, suddenly she won’t shut up about it. I’ve always suspect that she was offered money to testify, and then had remorse when the deadline passed and she realized that she really wasn’t going to get a payday out of it.

I agree this will backfire completely. But in Trump’s twisted logic, it makes complete sense. Donald may actually accuse Bill of being a rapist during the debates in front of a massive live television audience. Get your popcorn ready.

At this point, he might get more from Reince Priebus. Inside his little bubble, Trump doesn’t seem to have much of a handle on public opinion, but the RNC sure as hell does.

Hillary is so ready for this. Trump fell for her trap last time, if he does this he will really fall for it this time.
Hillary has people who have done this before on her team. Trump has Ailes and Chris Christie. I suspect none of the people who helped McCain, Romney and the Bushes will go anywhere near him.

Yes, Hillary will rehearse all kinds of scenarios and be prepared as usual.
The great thing is this will be a Town Hall. There will be angry women in the room saying, “How dare you treat women like this!” Trump will try to deflect to Bill’s behavior instead of addressing his own behavior. He needs to sincerely apologize and be contrite to the point of tears but he won’t be able to do that. He is The Donald. He can do no wrong.

So someone mentioned wanting to know how this is being discussed among people not entrenched in political news. I’ve mentioned my parents before in one of these Trump threads but they are die hard Republicans and were adamantly going to vote for him. Since they both are VERY passionate that Liberals are causing the country to go down the shitter, I try to avoid political talks but I had to know what they thought.
Dad, to his credit, said he didn’t even know who he was voting for anymore. That neither of them really deserved to be there.
Mom, however, doubled down on Trump. She’s still voting for him. Even knowing what he said. Because she likes him. Doesn’t matter that he’s a misogynist creep that sees women as nothing more than objects for his amusement. She hates Hillary. She can not STAND that woman. In her words. In fact, she should be in jail! But the government AND the media are protecting her. Because we never hear anything bad about her from anyone other than the brave souls at Fox News who won’t be intimidated by the government.
So yeah. My mom’s…I don’t know. But I can safely say she’s not the only one out there who still will vote for him. Hopefully it’s not enough to cause a problem.
