# Clinton v Trump - The Stretch Run Thread

That’s not remotely amazing. First off, Fahrenkopf is co-chair - the other co-chair is former DNC communications director and Clinton Press Secretary Mike McCurry. There’s no damn way the debate commission would allow this stunt - it would flush their sheen of neutrality down the toilet. They didn’t even allow the Clintons to bring a Senator into their box. And running a televised debate is not remotely comparable to Preibus’ job at the RNC.
LHoD, the article is about how the Trump campaign tried to get the Bill accuser women seated in the family box. I guess even replacing Melania because they wanted to see if Bill would shake their hand.

What JohnT said. They wanted to ambush Bill Clinton and cause a scene at the start of the debate. I guess they thought Hillary would just run away. Maybe that’s why Trump seemed so angry and skulking around her the whole time. He didn’t get to try to humiliate her. Just when you think the campaign can’t sink any lower, it does.

It sank lower when he went Banana Republican(not my phrase) on her. Threatening your opponent with jail once you’re elected is absolutely lower.
It’s scary how much approval that got.

A fave rave amongst Trump’s base, “Hillary for Prison”. Trump plays debates as if he addressing one of his pep rallies, flinging red meat to his avid crowd. He wasn’t, and I don’t know if he is really aware of the distinction.
Can’t begin to fathom what strategy is in operation, here. Even if Trump’s fanatic base stays absitively posolutely loyal, and doesn’t waver, its not enough. Lot of Red states, with lots of Republican voters, but many of them are comparatively sane Republicans: wrong, but not batshit.

Have you ever played a board game with a kid who just wasn’t very good at it, but who maybe had won the game a few times because Mom and Dad let him? Near the end, he realizes he’s losing, so he tries out some strategies: he complains that it’s unfair, he starts attacking you for playing well, and eventually he flips over the board and runs away crying.

It’s okay. According to that scary blond lady with the crazy-eyes who fluffs him on CNN daily, he was just joking. You see, it’s simple. Well, the most powerful Republican, the Speaker of the House, just decided to stop defending Trump and concentrate on congressional races.
Absolutely unbelievable that Trump has zero newspaper endorsements, his declared party is bailing on him and he still has rock hard supporters, most of whom consider Hillary literally the worst Human on the planet. :smack:

Well, it looks like the Florida’s Governor’s decision to not extend voter registration is probably a good thing for the Hillary Clinton campaign, as all but one of the counties hit by the hurricane lean heavily Republican.

Hillary’s secret hurricane controlling technology allowed her to use Matthew to her own nefarious ends, while Obama’s secret “GOP self-destruction mind-contolling device” is still working at 100% efficiency.

The freefall continues. Paul Ryan is finally off the Trumptanic! He instructs Republicans, “you all need to do what’s best for you and your district.” In other words, he green lights abandoning Trump.
Pence is looking shaky. Trump dissed him in the debate and he is cancelling appearances left and right. Will he survive the week?
Pence was never a good fit for Trump anyway. He should be replaced by Billy Bush. The two of them were like peas in a pod on the Access Hollywood bus. Think about the headlines: Trump-Bush make a Whitehouse _ **Grab** _ in 2016.
