It strikes me that whatever search terms the Google Alerts would plausibly be set to ping on would be likely to fit several items _besides_ the doctored email, most of them nothingburgers. When did he say that? I’ve heard him say that he’s under perpetual audit, but not a victim of religious persecution. ---

Now that’s interesting, because no one’s polling McMullin. I wonder if McMullin is going to be a much bigger outlet for disaffected Republicans than we currently think, maybe putting up Johnson-level numbers of 7% or so? ---

Just went to look up where McMullin is on the ballot. I have no idea how significant the write-in vote contingent will be, although I note Ohio, Arizona, Alaska and Pennsylvania on this list which will not help Trump at all. ---

Trump’s done so none of this really matters. Would actually be good for Republicans with a conscience to register their support for McMullin. ---

I don’t think Trump is quite done yet. The race will get interesting again, however unfucking believable that might seem. One thing that is different about this election is that scandals that would have long ago put away Trump seem to fade within days, if not hours. Trump’s numbers are the result of a cumulative effect of sustained scandal, but any one of these would have probably ended the race, if not the careers, of many others. He still stands. And he stands with Russia, Assange, and Breitbart. ---
