I’ve begun to take notice that Obama’s eyes appear to be half shut quit often. I think the 25 generals and admirals who finally came out in the final hour to support Hillary are afraid that he won’t wake up to answer the red phone. Nothing like being in a crisis and you’re trying to get a hold of the boss. ---

This ad is so bogus. What is Hillary trying to imply? That Obama will be out with the boyz in the hood stealing hubcaps when the call comes in? And as much as I actually like Hillary, this reeks of a desperate moment in her campaign. It was, however, nice of Karl Rove to give Hillary this idea for the ad prior to airing it for McCain in November. ---

I’m glad that Obama responded so quickly. I am concerned about how long he can respond in his manner, at some point he may encounter the argument “the AUMF is ancient history. What’s your plan now?” It will be interesting to see if this gets Hillary any votes. We may not see it in any pre-election polling, but if there’s a significant swing on Tuesday it may have hit the target. Personally, I would have worded the Clinton ad a bit different. “It’s 3 am and the phone rings in the White House. Might as well let Hillary get it, she’ll be waiting up for Bill anyway.” ---
